Nighttime Ninja in Top Ten in Big Ten Michigan

Nighttime Ninja makes the top ten list in a book-loving Michigan school library! "There’s just no stopping this book. I’ve talked about its (appropriately) sneaky popularity before, and it continues," as reported in School Library Journal's blog 100scopenotes.
Among the top ten are some of our favorite books, too: Creepy Carrots by Aaron Reynolds and Peter Brown, The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt and Oliver Jeffers, Mr. Wuffles! by David Wiesner, and the Pete the Cat books by James Dean.

Nighttime Ninja's illustrator Ed Young has been busy this year! Should You Be a River (Little, Brown), a touching poem he wrote for his daughters, is the subject of a recent New York Times review. Bird and Diz by Gary Goglio, is a magical book about the friendship of two great musicians. Publishers Weekly wrote: "Young (Nighttime Ninja) draws this homage to Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker not on pages that turn, but on one long piece of stiff paper folded accordion-style, echoing the long, flowing phrases played by the inventors of bebop...."
Ed's artwork for Bird and Diz will be the subject of an art show June 13-August 1, 2015 at the Chappaqua Library in New York: Ed Young: Diz & Bird – Illusrations from Creative Process to Finished Book.
